Redwood Animal Rescue (RAR) is a California for-public-benefit
nonprofit organization that provides rescue, foster, and adoption
placement for homeless animals in the state of California. Our
animals are rescued from animal shelters or are surrendered to us by
owners who can no longer provide care. If you are looking for a
companion animal, we will work with you to find the perfect match.
History: Redwood Animal Rescue is based in Felton, California. Our
headquarters are on an agriculturally zoned 5-acre property in Felton
where we have barns and kennels for domestic animals and dogs who are
being assessed. We also have a network of foster families who
provide loving home care, socialization, and basic training as
appropriate for our animals until they are placed in their forever
homes.

Mission: Redwood Animal Rescue seeks to find permanent adoptive
homes for dogs, cats, and domestic animals. These animals are have
been surrendered to shelters or directly to us. We seek to reduce
euthanasia of adoptable animals through the rescue and placement, to
support practices that reduce births of unwanted pets, to promote
positive behavioral training, and to educate the public about caring
for animals in a humane way.

Sadly, without our help, the animals in our care would face almost certain
euthanasia – usually within days or hours of our rescuing them. Many are
puppies and kittens surrendered by pet owners who don’t take
responsibility for the litters they allow to be born, or by people who find
them stray. Many are adults whose owners abandoned or surrendered
them, sometimes because changed circumstances forced hard choices,
sometimes because of convenience. Some have been injured, abused, or
simply neglected. Whatever the reasons for their need for help, these
animals all deserve better. When they join the Redwood Animal Rescue
family, we ensure that they get the care and compassion they deserve.
